How I made this costume:

Choker:
One thing that I wanted to point out right away, is that I tried to duplicate every part of Fran's outfit exactly. No shortcuts, no personal creative changes, and no details missed. So when I started to work on the choker there were a few things that I noticed. First was that it's tight on her neck, second is that it's pretty thick, and third is that the clasp on the back posed a challenge because it appears to be flush when closed.

I started by searching for materials at my local craft store and without any success with leather, thick fabric, or ribbon I knew that I would have to hand make this with craft foam. The foam would be perfect for the thickness needed, but it also has a similar texture as the choker on the high-resolution CG model.

I measured my neck with a tape measure, cut out a 12 in x 20 mm rectangular piece of black craft foam using a t-square ruler, and then used the front burner on my stove to gently fold it in half the long way over med-hi heat. Then I cut away a half-inch hollow on the inside half of the left end that would allow a place for the snap to be sewed in. Super glue was next, and with a steady hand I glued the foam in half along the length of it with the seem facing the bottom so that it wouldn't be noticeable. A few layers of black acrylic paint followed; then the snaps were super glued and hand sewn into place with a thin strip of Wonderflex on each side (a 1" piece for the female snap, and a 1/4" piece that filled the gap between the end and the male snap). Lastly, I sculpted the tiny silver circle clasp with silver Fimo, gave it a light wash of black and blue acrylic paint, and super glued it to the back to put the finishing touches on the choker.
