Sad Vader is Going to a New Home Soon
So it's the end of an era for Vader and me. Yes, Vader. That's the name of my beloved custom built PC that I've had since 2005. I'm not one to buy a ton of stuff, but recently I was given a computer that's better than the one I had. This is great news as far as YouTube is considered because it will help me produce videos faster.
One reason is that I can recorder longer using CamStudio. I didn't have a lot of RAM so the recording would sometimes crash and I would lose all of my work and have to re-record. This is a big deal, and now I can do longer videos without worrying about this happening. That, and I save time editing clips together in the long run.
Second, is that my render time has decreased significantly. It would take me about 2-3 hours to render a 10 minute HD video with motion blur and other filters. This would add up if I needed to do multiple renders to see or hear how things were coming along. Now it's much better. I can finish faster which will help speed up my pipeline so that I can potentially start doing more videos in less time.
I always feel sad when I start a new chapter in life. I'm a sentimental person. I've had this computer for so long and I've created so much wonderful artwork with it that it's hard to part with. I'm selling it on Craigslist and hope that someone will get more use out of it and Vader can potentially be loved by a new family that perhaps doesn't need a top-of-the-line computer to create artwork like I do. He's a good little machine and I've taken good care of him over the years.

That's wonderful news!! if u can sell Vader, I bet you'll make enough to purchase a 2 day pass for PAX East!! if that is u could make it. But anyways, is it an apple computer I bet? Not only that, but we get to see your lovely face if u film yourself on there!! This is gonna be exciting!! Well I hope u enjoy your computer and will be looking forward to seeing your posts on youtube. Oh and I got finished with Sis's fb fanpage. here's the link if u wanna take a look at what I've done so far: http://www.facebook.com/uriki7?sk=wall
Thanks Matthew. I'm still trying to save up for the Canon camera. That's what the money will be used for. Then I can start filming for YouTube.
Nope, the new one's a Gateway. I'm totally a PC girl. :) I do have a MacBook though, and I run Windows on it. heehee.
That's awesome about Carla's page. That's very thoughtful of you.
Hope you're enjoying you're day. I'm off to paint now. :3

Oh that's right!! I keep forgetting!! It's probably because I'm too excited for PAX this April that I easily forgot lol. Oh cool. Well I have both a dell and an HP laptop but I use that one more cause dell laptops suck u know. I also got a little advice for ya about Apple and HP Laptops. If u plan on becoming a film maker in the future, I suggest an Apple Laptop and if u wanna become a Game Designer, HP is the laptop for u. Keep that in mind.
Awww, I'm always sad when I have to say goodbye to a computer. . you spend so much time customizing and working with it. Hope Vader finds a nice new home :)
Yeah, sigh, he will be missed. Like you said, it's hard getting use to a new computer. Everything's so different.

Thanks Matt. :)
Anytime ^_^ it's always good to learn something from each other once in a while.
Indeed! :3
Yeah, does it have a built in webcam?
Yes, it does. I wouldn't want to use that for videos though. It would be too low res.

Oh ok. u know, deviantart has a webcam feature where u could post a pic of yourself as an ID and I think u could chat through there too. If not, then that's fine.
No, I had no idea. That's neat. :D

It really is!! I think we should try it one day!!
I'm not sure how it works though. You'd have to show me where it is on DA.
